A Late Night

As I said in my last post we have had some of the nicest weather this week than we have had in a very long time! It seemed a shame to not be out enjoying it as we never know how long it will last at this time of year so we set off out to the coast.

We had our tea out, nothing beats fish at the seaside!

And spent most of the evening playing on the beach;

We found some interesting beach 'art', well a supermarket trolley that had been dumped and buried by the tide;

Found some interesting drift wood;

It was quite big, a tree me thinks;

We watched the sun sink into the sea;

We wrapped up in the car and drove along the coast road saying good night to the sea and the sky. We were thinking of driving through the illuminations at Blackpool but it was just soooo busy being Saturday night we decided it was best to come home to bed and go during the week once the clocks have moved back for the winter. When it will be darker sooner so not as busy.

Hopefully my last pregnant walk on the beach, fingers crossed!

Not Raining?!!

Oh, my, what is that funny yellow light in the sky??

And why can we be outdoors and not drippy wet??

Yesterday we headed out as soon as the sun began to shine and had a wonderful time at the seaside, throwing rocks in the sea, counting gulls and eating yummy fresh fish!

And I don't know about you but I seem a little more pregnant in this picture I took of myself than I did here;

Good job I didn't need my coat this visit, don't think it would zip up at the moment!!

We headed out again this morning in the blazing sun, unfortunately it got greyer and greyer as we neared the coast but we still had a picnic (all be it windy) and an afternoon playing on the beach with our buckets and spades. We did get burnt by the wind rather than the sun and Nathaniel did have to have his jacket on with the hood up. The decision to go home came when I took a picture of Elizabeth and the flash on the camera went off because the sky had grown sooooo dark.

We made it back to the car before it started to rain and I, for one, had a luverly day at the seaside!!

Hope the rain stopped and the sun shone where ever you were today!?

My Very Tall Family

The sun has shone today, not as warmly as earlier in the week but we set off to the seaside anyway!

We were very windswept but had a lovely walk on the beach, collected shells, wrote in the sand and watched our shadows grow longer as tea time approached;

L-R: Simon, Nathaniel, me, Francesca and Elizabeth.

Wishing all Mummies everywhere a wonderful day tomorrow!

Better

I have spent the day at the seaside counting the sea gulls;

And counting my blessings;

The world is not right and bad things happen to good people but sadly there really is nothing I can do so I am going to enjoy and be grateful for what I have.

My headache is much better today, I can stand up and haven't been sick, which is a huge improvement. And a little retail therapy and paracetamol always help!

Thanks for all you kind wishes.

A Change Of Plan

I did lots of making yesterday and some fabulous new knitting, Nathaniel has been particularly amusing and I had last night's blog post all mapped out in my mind......

Then, after popping to the post office and delivering a card and buying some more cat food and a visit to the park we went to collect Simon from work early. How nice of us!! He climbed in the car and said blimey (we both do that) what a beautiful evening it's going to be ( bearing in mind it had rained until 3pm) lets go to the sea side!

How could we say no?

So off we went, heading towards Blackpool. I was the first to see the tower (doesn't everyone do that?)! We went along the coast waving at the sea all the while, it waved back too! Ha ha!! To our favourite fish restaurant in Bispham. How can you be near the sea and not eat fish?! The girls were wonderfully behaved, I like eating out with them, the assume more adult ways and there is no fighting like at our dinner table. They ate all their meal and finished off with ice cream.

Then after a quick trip back to the car (the evening was nice but not warm) to collect coats we headed down to the sea. We walked on the sand, admired the wind farm off the shore, got quite wet and looked for tiny crabs in the sea weed. Didn't find any this time, they must already have been in bed!

The sun was setting as we were leaving, the sky looked beautiful;

Nathaniel was pooped;

We all had such a wonderful time, thanks Simon!!
