Sex And The Pinny

Today I have been making pinnies and talking about sex!

Pinnies first. Whilst shopping this morning some pastel tea towels just jumped into my arms (I have been admiring them for an age and resisting but today they were marked down in price). I chopped and pinned and sewed and ended up with two little girls pinnies and four yummy mummy pinnies. No pictures of the bigger ones but this one Francesca really likes;

They look really rather good and I have said that if it comes home from the next fair unsold then she can have it!

Talking about sex. At the children's centre where we do boobie club and baby yoga and other exciting things a course started this week called speakeasy. It is aimed at enabling parents and carers of young children to discuss sex in a suitable way. I am not shy but don't always know when to stop when answering questions from the girls. I want to answer them well but feel sometimes we can give our children more information than is necessary. Some parents just don't give enough information or tell lies (really gets my back up but it'll keep for another time).

Today was brilliant, everyone giggled, not just me, it was very interesting to see who knew what and just what people didn't know, it seems I may not have led such a sheltered life after all! We get lots of free books to help us complete our porfolio of work and information and at the end of it we get a qualification worth three credits from the Open College (about a GCSE's worth) that is recognised by the Family Planning Association. Rather pleased with that, another feather in my bow for when all my babies are at school and I can go and hunt for gainful employment again!

The ice breaker was brilliant and had everyone near to tears with mirth and I urge you all to try it (and maybe share in the comments?). Write down "I HATE" and follow it with a household chore then write "BECAUSE" and say why you hate that particular chore. Now score out the chore and replace with the word "SEX". Mine said "I HATE SEX BECAUSE THERE ARE ALWAYS ODD ONES LEFT OVER" one woman hated sex becasue of the dust, one becasue she was bad at it, one because it was boring and one becasue of all the smears!

Can you guess what my chore was?!

Boots And A Dilemma

Well I spent some time this morning making an apron for my craft fair (big pockets for change) with some tea towels that I bought for 30p at IKEA ages ago. I have already used some for a present and made this one for me;

I made one for Elizabeth too as she will be coming to keep me company. Really looking forward to it. Girl bonding! We rarely get much time to ourselves and we'll have all day. There will be a big flask of peppermint tea (biscuits?) and some good books going with us too!!

I also spent an age wrestling with a big sheet and some patch work daisies, nightmare. I gave up and put that little project aside to do the ironing (yes, it was that difficult). Will go back to it in a little while when I have read all the new posts in my blog reader.................

Then after lunch my very lovely friend Claire asked if I'd like to go shoe shopping. Well, that is a bit like asking if I wanted to breathe in and out!! How could I say no?! We left our respective children with their respective fathers and off we went into the wild blue yonder (well up the road a bit) and I bought these beautiful knitted boots! Squeal! There're not genuine Uggs (as if!) but I love them and they are snug and cosy and knitted and ooooh! I could only love them more if they were purple!

The dilemma is.........excusing terrible photographs (tis hard to photograph your foot!)............do I wear them like this;

Or like this;

Or one of each as I did for the pics?! I must also appologise for my frighteningly white legs! At least because of the flash going off you can only see the white and not the hair! Haha!

I Couldn't Find....

....the tea towel tutorial I saw the other day but googled "tea towel apron" and looked at lots of different ideas. I took a bit from here, a bit from there and came up with this;

Really rather pleased with the outcome and Myah loved it! It took two half tea towels and because I bought a pack of three for only £1 worked out at less than 50p and it only took me about half an hour. There is enough left for another one just like this and then a whole tea towel to be used for something else.....

We delivered it this afternoon and Myah also got a HUGE trampoline for her birthday. The girls had hours of fun while Tracey and I drank tea and gossiped. We put Nathaniel on for a quick bounce before we headed home. He loved it. He couldn't stand up for long but laughed the whole time;
