Apologies....

.... for our half term holiday (well, some of it) in seventeen gazillion pictures!

What happens when the rain is falling and the sky is grey and you leave out your box of ribbons;

And someone gets to work with their busy hands;

Funky bracelets;

And anklets;

We (well, the girlies) got hot new sandals for the summer season;

We drove down to Shrewsbury to meet Simon's Mum and Dad, we visited the castle;

Saw the most amazing wendy house ever made, this summer house was built for Laura by her father for her birthday in 1790;

Looked at the blue blue skies through the outer walls;

Realised that some of us are still little especially when we stand next to HUGE wheels;

"Giddy Up Grumpy!"

We found a hairy catapiller;

Then Nathaniel and I made some with clay to adorn the 'wishtree' comissioned for the front of our children's centre;

He even made them little sausages to eat so they're not hungry.

Francesca wished for 'sunshine' and made a ladybird.

I wished for 'harmony' but am not holding my breath;

Elizabeth's leaf sums her up perfectly;

Play games;

And a 'wow' flower;

There are lots more pictures and I've just realised I have missed a very importanat one but I can show you that another day.
Tomorrow night I am walking the Midnight Walk in aid of Pendleside Hospice. It's a magical place (I hope that's not an inapropriate word), my auntie spent her last weeks in the hospice and I have since worked there before being a Mummy. I have cared for terminally ill patients in the General Hospital and a convent for sick sisters too. So I have seen the care and know it's value to those who recieve it and those who give it. Although lots of my work at the moment involves the start of life I know the value of good care, dignity and respect at the end of life and I believe everyone has the right to die where they chose and the hospice service provides a safe and comfortable place somewhere between home and hospital. Palliative care is vital to the comfort and support of those near the end of their lives and their families. Hopefully the money we all raise from walking tomorrow night will help make providing that care a little easier. It's just paper sponsorship (no online) but if any of you would like to sponsor me please let me know and I can take monies via paypal, or go and find your local hospice and offer them a donation!

Hurrah!!!!!

It's Friday, it's after 4pm and all my children are here with me. We have all hugged together and jumped up and down and squealed because it's the holidays!!!!!!! They are delighted because we have so many lovely adventures planned for the coming week and I am pleased to not have to pack lunches! The cries of "I said get your knickers on!" and "Where did you put it?!" (when asked where kit bag/reading book/lunch box/spelling book is) and "We are going to be late for school!" will not be heard in this house until 8am on Tuesday November 4th! Woo-hooooooo!!!!!!!!

And due to my busy-ness yesterday morning (before going for a lovely play at school with Francesca, we had a great time, she introduced me to all her friends, showed me all her books, around her classroom etc. Nathaniel had fun too, his favourite was definately climbing in the yard on the climbing frame and going down the slide!) of chickens and stuff I managed to sit down last night and knit these lovely rosettes;

The beads and sequins are ready to go on them tonight!

And here are my babies post celebration squeeze;

Holidays

Blimey, can't believe it's been so long! Bad, bad blogger!!
The children are all at home, that's my excuse!
Simon is away now for a few days so there will be lots of creative happenings here and we won't be tutted at when we leave our stuff all over the place! The girls have already started doing things with CDs, pics will follow soon, I have no doubt!
Need to have a sort of my fabrics later as Elizabeth and I visited SAMS (a local organisation that recycles things from industry that would otherwise end up in land-fill sites) this morning and came back with lots of things; three huge cushions (in crap covers but that can soon be rectified), a pile of fabrics for handbags, dresses and anything else I feel inspired to make, some fancy paper, some black felt, some picture frames, some wool, felt circles, a phone charger (?) and far too many things to list......

Here are some of my most exciting fabric finds;

The prints are quite big as they are designed for children's soft furnishings so I may just use images from them to embellish garments instead of using them as my main fabric, we'll see!

As I said the girls are on holiday. We don't seem to have done very much but it's good just to have all my babies here with me.
We have, however, had fun in a tent;

And turned our tongues blue drinking slushies with our friends at a local play centre;

That's all for now folks!
